AI form check
AI Push-Up
form check.
Film a set of push-ups from the side, upload it, and the AI scores each rep. It measures your elbow angle at the bottom and top, watches your body line for sagging hips, and checks your hand position against your shoulders.
Every rep, scored
What the AI checks on your push-up.
- Depth
- Your elbow angle is measured at the bottom of every rep. Reps that stay above about 110 degrees get flagged as shallow.
- Lockout
- The elbow angle at the top of each rep is checked, so reps that never straighten out get flagged as incomplete.
- Body line
- The line from your shoulders through hips to ankles is tracked all rep long. Hips sagging more than about 20 degrees below straight gets flagged.
- Elbow flare
- The angle between your upper arms and torso is measured at the bottom, flagging elbows flared out wide instead of tucked around 45 degrees.
- Hand width
- Your hand spacing is compared to your shoulder width, flagging setups that are much too wide or too narrow.
- Symmetry and legs
- Left and right elbow angles are compared per rep, and your knee angle is checked to catch bent knees or knee push-ups.
Common faults
Mistakes it catches.
- Sagging hips
- The body line breaking at the hips, the most common flag once the set gets hard. The report shows which reps sagged and how far.
- Half reps
- Cutting depth at the bottom or stopping short of lockout at the top, both measured by elbow angle on every rep.
- Flaring the elbows
- Upper arms winging out toward 90 degrees, which shifts stress onto the shoulders.
- Bending the knees
- Legs breaking the plank position mid-set, often without you noticing until you see the footage.

Questions, answered
Push-Up form check, explained.
- How do I film my push-ups for a form check?
- Put your phone on the floor or a low surface a few meters to your side, so your whole body from hands to feet stays in frame. A side view is what lets the AI read your body line and elbow angles.
- Can AI detect sagging hips on push-ups?
- Yes. The analyzer tracks the line through your shoulders, hips, and ankles on every frame and flags reps where your hips drop meaningfully below straight, including how many degrees the line broke.
- What counts as a full push-up rep?
- The analyzer looks for an elbow angle near 90 degrees at the bottom and a clear lockout at the top. Reps that stay too high at the bottom or never straighten at the top are flagged individually.
- What does the push-up form report include?
- Per-rep verdicts on depth, lockout, hip sag, elbow flare, hand width, left-right symmetry, and leg position, plus rep tempo, so you can see exactly where your set broke down.
