AI form check
AI Deadlift
form check.
Film your deadlift set from the side, upload it, and the AI scores every pull. It measures your back angle through the lift, your bar path off the floor, and whether each rep finishes in a full lockout.
Every rep, scored
What the AI checks on your deadlift.
- Back rounding
- Your trunk angle is tracked through the pull. If your back angle collapses by more than about 20 degrees on the way up, the rep is flagged.
- Starting position
- Your hip hinge and trunk angle are measured at the bottom of each rep, flagging setups where the torso is folded too far over the bar.
- Lockout
- Hip extension is measured at the top of every rep, so soft lockouts where you never fully stand up get called out.
- Bar path
- Horizontal bar travel is measured on each rep. A bar that drifts away from your body instead of tracking straight up gets flagged.
- Symmetry
- Left and right hip angles and shoulder heights are compared, catching twisted or uneven pulls.
- Knee position
- Knee alignment is checked at the bottom of each rep, flagging knees that collapse inward off the floor.
Common faults
Mistakes it catches.
- Rounding under load
- The back angle giving way mid-pull, usually on the last reps. The report shows which reps rounded and by how much.
- Soft lockout
- Cutting the rep before the hips fully extend, which means the rep never actually finished.
- Bar drifting forward
- The bar swinging away from your legs, which multiplies stress on the lower back.
- Uneven pulling
- One hip or shoulder rising faster than the other, a sign of asymmetric setup or a side-to-side strength gap.
How it works
From video to verdict.
01
Film your set
Record one working set with your whole body and the bar or handles in frame.
02
Upload the video
Create a free account and upload the video to the deadlift form check.
03
Read your rep-by-rep report
Each rep is scored with specific flags and the cues to fix the biggest issue first.
Questions, answered
Deadlift form check, explained.
- How do I film my deadlift for a form check?
- Put your phone at hip height, a few meters directly to your side, with your whole body and the bar in frame for the full set. A side view lets the AI read your back angle and bar path accurately.
- Can AI detect back rounding on deadlifts?
- Yes. The analyzer tracks your trunk angle frame by frame during the pull and flags any rep where your back angle collapses significantly on the way up, along with how large the change was.
- What does the deadlift form report include?
- Per-rep verdicts on back rounding, starting trunk angle, lockout completeness, horizontal bar drift, left-right symmetry, and knee position, plus tempo timing and cues ordered by importance.
- Does it work for Romanian deadlifts too?
- Romanian deadlifts have their own dedicated analyzer with different standards, since knees stay fixed and the bar never touches the floor. Use the RDL form check for those sets and this one for conventional pulls.
